i am finding this emulator for years, every people say that was in beta nsyder, 4 year or more are passed and nothing, no emulator link or something to download nobody in youtube pass this emulator, seem a fake because there not nothing, if you know something or link please put it here or send me a messaje private, the worse can be that so time waiting for this and come without sound effects like dolphin..

It works as showcased, it's not a fake, people aren't betatesting stuff made out of thin air. More info is available for subscribers to the Nsider section, which features behind-the-scene reports and files about the development status. By no means is Gekko complete, but it's sure heading that way...

Leaking Nsider information/files is significantly frowned upon by the way, so other than by subscribing to the Nsider programme, one should not expect to see/hear more than whatever is posted on the official forum for public view.

the problem is that today there are much emulators for free like pcsx2 and dolphin, in the gekko forums says: pay for be a member beta nsyder, there are pics and fps, more information, 7 dolars is nothing but some guy says that : ( I think this is going a bit too far...I mean I like the project and everything but spending money for some screenshots so it will take even longer to release gekko because shizzy needs dual core eh?why not release a 32 bit gekko at first )...about this i can say that i will pay if gekko puts for at least sources for people can compile a gekko emulator for play games, but is clear that there not sources or emulator gekko for play gamecube games, etremely long time are passed and nobody has some beta gekko emulator, well is very hard believe in this,,the whorse is that there not a date for release this emulator in the future, excuse me but i´m human

It's not payware, if you suggest that it is/was. Donations and similar support for emulation projects is voluntary

See date (early-mid 2007), I believe that is no longer actual (dual cores have gone cheap now too). emulating such devices requires a hefty number of the actual consoles and accessories, not to mention powerful allaround comps (other expenses indispensable for the growth of the project).

Announcing release dates is a bother, since it just adds pressure on devs, creates overhype, could be missed entirely. This could also cause rushed broken versions to be spread online (which would significantly increase the burden of support on devs, who cant just dismiss such versions as if they never existed. Support for pcsx2 betas and svn compiles is not provided for a similar reason, too burdensome).

hardcorerikki are you a developer??you are in all emulators news for a lot of years ago, question about pcsx2 emulator and gekko. pcsx2: why nobody are maked a new better video plugin for this emulator??? there are thousand developers people but no other project, look this god of war1 and 2 is a game amazing, to me"the best of ps2" and only in sofware mode looks at least something but extremely slow, i have pcsx2 362, gsdx svn 752 and d3dx37.dll well i hace rename the additional d3dx37 for d3dx36 because pcsx2 can´t work with 37 named, all this but i don´t look any changes only for speed, i can say this: i don´t ask anymore if god of war can be playble in pcsx2. about gekko; is better than dolphin??dolphin is a regular emu but very uncomplished, and is bad the sound effects

So why don't you and others play on a normal regular PS2 then if you don't like it.

The logic holds itself (as a general rule of thumb), but Gekko is pretty much very real indeed

It's very real, I've been beta testing it as a result for signing up and donating as an N'sider. Lightning has been really busy lately, has a tough job/CEO as a boss. He wants to get it working better or up to par with Dolphin before an official release.

I haven't been testing much lately, but have provided some feedback on the Gekko forums about it.

Reminds me I should join Nsider as well someday, always interesting...

Its not open source / The only way to get builds of it is to be a member of n'sider.
