i m posting this guide here, coz i had problems loading up the savegames in various formats into my pcsx2. this is the easiest method i have found, and hope it works for you too!

i think altho this probably only applies to PC users, but should be compatible for PS2 users if modified slightly.

this will make life very easy for those of you that wants to import gamesave files into your .ps2 memcard for use on pcsx2.

you will need only 2 tools with this method.
1) mymc
2) ps2save-builder

2 pre-requisites:
a) before you start, you will need to run the game and make at least 1 save into the memory card. (this will create a game save file into the mem card)
b) download the game save file onto your hdd from the net
*it's a good idea to backup your memcard file before doing anything to it.

First, you need the GameID (so you know you are using the correct savefile as some games have jap, us and europe versions)

if you are confident the savegame file you have downloaded is the correct version corresponding to your game, feel free to skip step 1.

Step 1. open up mymc-gui.exe
"File" --> "Open"
(select your pcsx2 memcard file, default is c:\program files\pcsx2\memcards\Mcd001.ps2) - assuming it's installed on drive c:
The gameID you need is the directory name of your game save.
keep this program open, you will need it in step3.

Step 2. open ps2savebuilder
"File" --> "Open"
(select the cheat savegame file)
Look at the Root/ID... sometimes it's named as NEW_FILE, and that didn't work with my pcsx2.
a) check the first file name, it should be same as your game directory, otherwise keep searching online for the correct savegame before continue further.
b) change Root/ID to the same as the 1st File Name and your Game Directory name.
c) click save
d) shark port worked for me as the default option, so you can choose whatever you like, or choose shark port as the save type and click SAVE.

Step 3. go back to your mymc.
a) click import (2nd button)
b) click on the game save file that's already on the memcard which refers to your game.
c) "File" --> "Delete" (same file name cannot co-exist)
d) import the savegame file you created in step2.
e) close the program, and boot up pcsx2 to test ;-)
