could it... ALMOST PERFECT MARIO 64 ON A 500MHZ CPU 4MB GPU WITH PJ64

i tried mario 64 just for fun(to see how hopeless the speed and gfx would be)
on my:
500mhz p3
4mb intel 810 GPU
192mb RAM

..
i tried...
mario's head appeared glitchless and ~90% of full speed and said hello!
WTF? is this my pc?
i started.
peach' message in full speed!
lakitu appeared, in ~85% to 100% of full speed he goes around the castle :o
well... sorry for my english, so now i post the screenshots.
see attachments.
but i found out that the gfx glitches were transparent textures(e.g. trees, coins, bomb ombs)
isn't this result wonderful?

EDIT: movie added, sorry for the speed, it's because the slow zdsoft gamerecorder

So, PJ64 1.6 is an example of "emu stuff" but version 1.5 SP1 is not? If you just want to play Mario, you might try Corn, which has horrible compatibility but is very fast (and works with one or two games, one of which is Mario). PJ64's stated minimum CPU is Intel Pentium 3 700Mhz or AMD Athlon 800Mhz. Or a new PC is always good.

Sorry for going offtopic but your dad doesn't allow you to mess with
emulators and you can't download new version so you must use the old one ?Lol
(How the f** is he going to find out anyway, does he check for versions ?Fear )

Now ontopic: What is the point of this poll?
You are telling us how wonderfull your PC is because it can run emulator
almost perfectly...

the goal from the poll is finding out how good this is for my specs.
i downloaded 1.5 BEFORE he disallowed me to download emu stuff.

I don't see anything awesome on that. Specially because I have emulated it on a 233MHz machine/128MB RAM/8MB onboard gfx.
...and Mario64? Oh God, why emulating it yet?

Yup. Yeah, it ran slow, but was emulated. And for low specs PC, and SPECIALLY to play Mario64, there's always Corn. Tongue wink

I know that, look at my post, i asked you does he check for versions?

Talking about emulating, i remeber that i played Super Mario with a NES
emulator on 486 100Mhz with a crappy cirrus logic gfx card, it ran half speed Smile

And about Pj64, i run Mario 64 on a AMD K6 400 Mhz, 160 Mb ram and a Gf2 Mx
and it was working very well, though there were slowdowns occasionally.

an old school pc, with 90 mhz, 64mb ram, WINDOWS XP ran mariokart super circuit at full speed with a snes emu!
but how much VRAM has a gf2 mx?
o yeah, i played mario64 on my 150mhz without MMX 2mb non-3d vram integrated at 50% of speed!
and i was also able to play zelda MM on my 150mhz!
well...
let's go ontopic Tongue wink

RE: could it... ALMOST PERFECT MARIO 64 ON A 500MHZ CPU 4MB GPU WITH PJ64

wtf.. you are just posting bull**t.
First here are the requirements for Win XP from the readme file on instalation disc:

Quote:
  • 233 megahertz (MHz) Pentium or higher microprocessor (or
    equivalent)
  • 128 megabytes (MB) recommended (64 MB of RAM minimum;
4 gigabytes (GB) of RAM maximum)
  • 1.5 GB of free space on your hard disk
  • VGA monitor
  • Keyboard
  • Mouse or compatible pointing device
  • CD-ROM or DVD drive

You said that old school PC with 90 Mhz and Win Xp ran SNES emulators full speed... yeah right.

Another thing: you have just said that a ultra crappy PC can run pj64 + Mario 64 half speed...
now you have a better PC and you can run in better speeds, wow isn't that just wonderfull?

I wasn't sure about the point of the thread when i first saw it but now i know...
This is a plain spam thread which just shout for closing...

If any admin/mod want to open it again then ok but i was fed up with the whole thing.

Closed.

Shendo, you did the right thing Thumbsup, it should have been closed a long time ago.
