RE: XP SP3 x Vista SP1

I think that SP3 will make XP just like Vista when it comes to DRM but from what I can see it's nothing much more than a collection of past updates.

RE: XP SP3 x Vista SP1

MS has a bad habit of making having a significant chunk of their "improvements" being just stealth settings changes. Best recheck all settings in place for everything after SP install.
If they offer speed bumps with just defaulting to more optimal settings, no way random joe couldnt do it, months before a SP.

AutoPatcher is still the way to go, at least for mass updating winbl0ws. 20 updates or so since august? Manually grabbing that looks more than viable.

The only serious upgrade worth grabbing from vista would be the enforced safety level for local networking, as in, no local connecting under a certain client safety level, and locally distributed security patches to clients, so they can join after theyre safe
