RE: Wide Screen LCD
As widescreen gets more mainstream, you're sure to see more games with that aspect ratio as a selectable option.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 | 2 GB DDR2 RAM | GeForce 7900 GTX
2.5 TB Hard Drive Space | Windows XP Pro SP2

RE: Wide Screen LCD
If you have some Next-Gen-Hardware like a X-Box 360 then it's worth it. My parents bought a hdtv-widescreen display from samsung and it has some special "game-mode" witch auto-adjusts resolution and colors. It's also extremely pretty to watch DVD on this, but you should buy 5.1-speakers with it, so the audio matches the video.
However it's pretty bad for normal TV, since in germany there's HDTV only available on a few channels, and without it you really can count the pixel on the display

RE: Wide Screen LCD
Just make sure you get one with a good response time, else your games make look a touch blurry.

8ms or lower is good.

I think it's hard to find one that has got anything higher than 8ms.
I was looking into this as well, I wonder how DC games look on LCD if it doesn't support the 640p.

RE: Wide Screen LCD
I bought a 19inch Asus 5Ms widescreen. Most PC games out now have WS res's to select from and you wont notice. PCSX2 cuts off the sides of the screne (like a black boarder) even with pcsx2 games that have widescreen support (like FFXII). Only suggestion is make sure you dont get a 8ms. 5ms is good, 2ms is great.
