I just wanted to take a quick moment to announce that the site has been relocated on our new host and that the only thing left to be restored are attachments (which are still uploading as I write this). Being on this new host should make this site much faster and more importantly, more reliable than in the past. Our doors are open again.

Btw General Plot, What Happened that caused DCemu and other websites hosted on their server to go down again, or is it still unknown?

To be honest, I don't know the details of what kept making Marty's server go down, I just knew we couldn't afford to be on a server that couldn't be relied on. With the second occurrence of downtime in less than a month from the previous one, I discussed the issue with Schatten, and we both decided a move was in everyone's best interest. I hated having the site down for an extra day, but I really think it was worth it. I've already noticed the site loads much quicker, and if it's uptime is anything like it's available bandwidth, then this will be the best decision we've made yet.

Never moved hosts before, but I kinda know what it's like because restoring backups is a pain in the arse, and on my connection it takes ages.

Doesn't the amount of space open new possibilities for GE?
Maybe we should start a user contributed gallery system for screenshots and media instead of relying on the tedious attachment method.

DCemu was down, so it took us into the ravine with it, along with a few other sites.

It does seem a bit faster. Now if you can get rid of the annoying "please wait" messages...

You can disable those in CP -> show friendly redirect pages (DISABLED).
Turned onto my nerves too, should indeed be disabled forum-wise, since its main function seems to be to regulate/relieve server ressource usage from reaching high peaks.

Thanks HCR, I was getting annoyed at those too, didn't know you could take them off. Guess I should explore the CP more
