Trouble with NullDC beta v1.0.0 (I think >_>)

First of all, I've been trying to make several emulators to work for four days now, and its starting to get to me. So, after a couple of day of net surfing, I found that NullDC is apearently the best one on the internet that my computer actually work on.

The trouble is, when I start the software it works out, but when I boot the game, which is SA2 in .cdi format, I get an error (in another extra window) that I have no idea what it means, so here it is..

...

Appearently, some files are mission, but I thought I had all the files they listed as required and I do. After that, he keep on saying how he tries to "Write something something to Regs", "Write to system" and after each line, he says "Not implanted". And it just shuts down.

I don't know if its the game or its just some missing files fr the software, so I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out or refferring me to someone who knows about this stuff.

Please limit your answers to stuff I can understand. I really don't know that much about all this. :\

Thanks in advance.

A 1.6 nullDC beta is out. You might wanna try it, if it's not the one you're already using.
Unless I'm mistaken, syscalls.bin is needed for GDROM HLE emulation, and is required when doujng a normal boot from a disc image.

I believe dc_flash_wb.bin is identical to dc_flash.bin (which you already have), so I suppose you could just just make a copy of that file and rename it to dc_flash_wb.bin

For IP.BIN, you can make your own, using a program called IP.BIN Writer

Shuts down with no error?

Also, tell us your PC specs.

I think I better stick with this one (beta v1) for now. Atleast untill I found out whats wrong with it.

And I was actually doing a normal boot from an ISO, but if it was required, why was it put into the download patch?Hmm I'll try to track one down and get that IP, too. If all that didn't work, I'll try to download v1.6.

It shows the error then it shuts down.

And my specs are as following :

Desktop PC

Windows XP Service Pack 2

Intel ®
Pentium ® 4 CPU 1.7 GHz
And 384 MB of RAM

I don't see how its relevent, though. I've checked online and several people are having the same problem. :\

Anyway, I'll check back after I got those files.

According to drk||razi, those files are only necessary for ELF debbuging. So that's not the cause of your problem.

What's your video card? Got and the latest drivers and DirectX?

Get the latest version of DirectX from http://www.microsoft.com. Some emulators tend to hate Intel chipsets with a passion (can't say nullDC is one of them, but Cxbx is and sometimes PCSX2).

RE: Trouble with NullDC beta v1.0.0 (I think >_>)

Ah yeah, your integrated Intel chip is cutting it. There lies most of your problems, I believe that integrated chip is about as bad as my integrated Intel graphics chip (82845GV) in my old PC.

To my knowledge it probably lacks any kind of Pixel/Vertex shading which can cause issues with Dreamcast emulators such as nullDC, PCSX2 (PS2) and Gamecube emulators.

If you can bring up the Gui of nullDC without crashes, switch to Chankast PVR (If it still is included with recent nullDC versions) or turn of options in nullPVR such as modifier volumes.

Once the nullDC gui is brought up, go to options --> PowerVR and set Sort to off and modifier volumes to off if you are using nullPVR since they will cause problems on chipsets and cards which don't support Pixel Shading.

Alternatively if your PC has a PCI slot, you can pick up a Geforce FX 5500 or a Geforce 6200 for fairly cheap nowadays ($50 USD or less) or an ATI Radeon X1550Pro for under a $100 USD, like $75 - $85 USD from newegg.

This should allow you to play without the need to disable any options. Even better if you have an AGP or PCIe slot as you can go for any 6xxx series of nvidia cards to the low or high end range of nvidia cards. A low end 8xxx series of nvidia cards are fairly cheap going for about $200 USD, the 7xxx and 6xxx series of nvidia cards are fairly cheaper now.

Try what I mention above if you can to see if it helps you any, if not it looks like you will have no choice but to upgrade or use other worse DC emulators like Chankast or Demul. Also noting that your PC specs are horrid, you are in dire need of an upgrade if you want to use any recent or demanding emulators such as nullDC, PCSX2, Demul, or any Gamecube emulator as well as PC games. That rig won't even be able to play games like Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, or source engine games like Half-Life 2 or CS:S decently and will give you severe lag.

So I'd say an upgrade is imminent if you want to play PC games and use emulators such as PCSX2, nullDC, Dolphin or GCemu (Gamecube)

Sorry,Sad

Cheers, X2DM.

RE: Trouble with NullDC beta v1.0.0 (I think >_>)

Thanks, Rob. That certainly helped. Now I know for sure that I won't be able to work NullDC on my computer. No

I downloaded DirectX 9 and installed it, I changes the video plugins to Chankast PVR and boot the game. I didn't get that same error, this one is more depressive. It says "Video card is no compatible with DirectX 9"...

Crying

And here was I thinking that I can play a couple of good games free of charge. Heh, I guess it is true that there is nothing free in life.

Anyway, since Im not really planning on running out of the door looking for new video cards, what are my options to playing DC games? Or PS1 games for that matter?

Can I properly run Chankast or ePSXe?

Just a fair note, this forum like ngemu has a "No Warez" rule. We don't allow discussion of downloaded games or copyrighted material and anyone found in possession of illegally obtained copyrighted material immediately has their thread closed.

It's best to not admit to what you've downloaded or are downloading and always say you've backed up your games, media and software.

Anyways however since the ops question has basically been answered and upgrading is unavoidable to use emulators like nullDC, PCSX2, and Gamecube emulators I am closing this.

@ViciousTaz, you might want to give the rules a quick read before deciding to post again.Wink

Cheers, Rob Zombie aka X2DM.
