PS2 emulation has surely come a long way.

I remember back when the 0.8.1 release of PCSX2 was out, everything and every game was slow as molasses on any setup no matter how beefy of a rig you had.

0.9.0 was a bit better in regards to speed, each new release giving a small fraction of a speedup if any.

Well today something amazed me, I started up the latest public beta of PCSX2, using the latest in development release of gsdx and Gigahertz SPU plugin the speed up was phenomenal.

I tested my copy of Twisted Metal Black, and it was like it was running at full speed except for some minor lag when a lot of action was on the screen even with the weather effects.

This is opposed to before on the same rig with 0.9.3 and ZeroGS where I got 15 FPS max or less with this game.

I was simply astounded, I'm definitely donating to the PCSX2 team when I get a chance for their hard work that went into this emulator.

Simply amazing and fantastic.

I'll post some screenshots when I get a chance of PCSX2 running on my low-mid end rig.

Specs:

AMD64 X2 3800+ @ 2.0 Ghz, 1024 MB Ram 300 MB shared with onboard graphics, Geforce 6150LE.

Only problem is I am unable to exit PCSX2 without my entire system locking up and having to reboot. Sad

RE: PS2 emulation has surely come a long way.

My first attempt was running that star homebrew on pcsx2 0.3 or 0.4...I'm forget. Amazed when first time get booting ps2 bios with 0.6 and get FFX ingame(by loading a save game) with 0.7. Slow as hell that time Smile Btw, congratulation to pcsx2 team dev.
