If you disagree with my list please let me know. What do you guys think are the most over hyped/getting to much credit of all time games are and why?[/u]

I think The Sims should be on the list.

Final Fantasy VIII
- Sure its a good game, but because it poped the cherry of so many RPG virgins everyone treats it like it is the most amazing thing ever, its boring as s**t and its not even that good.

Doom
- Im a Wolfenstein 3D man myself, I always found doom pretty boring.

The Sims
- I dont need to say anything.

Street Fighter
- While I dislike pretty much all fighting games other than Tekken, these get to be put on some sacred ground, like im mean to care that soem Turbo EX 2 enhanced edition jsut came out with Ryu's eyes now being blue. Who cares!

The World Of Warcraft
- First of all, s**t graphics and boring gameplay put toegher with one of the most boring battle control schemes ever. Wow you get a winner with this piece of crap. I Also dont believe in Pay 2 Play when you buy a game in the first place.

Halo (The Series)
- Nothing special about it at all, its just mind numbingly generic shooter.

Metal Gear Solid (Series)
- I dont get what the hype is about, you can go and drink a beer and have some fish and chips while you sit there hiding in thiss boring ass game.

Grand Theft Auto (Series)
- While I am a fan and have finished them all, you can help but feel they are over exposed. There generic storylines 'borrowed' from elsewherw sometimes wears a little thin.

World Of Warcraft and Sims serie first. I guess it was a little obvious actually
Then GTA, Halo. Emmy pretty much summed it up exhaustively enough.

I add the FIFA and NBA series, and pull out the yugioh and pokemon franchises out from my secret deck. The yearly EA tax is turning pretty hefty, now. Paying premium for an up-to-date list of team players' names ??

I don't know -- I actually really liked the GTA III series of games, particularly San Andreas, Vice City and Vice City Stories. I find that there's something really fun about that giant sandbox experience.

As far as overrated games, the Halo and God of War series immediately come to mind. (And, of course, anything developed by EA.) As an aside, Action Button's review of GOW2 really encapsulates my feelings about the game -- and really got me thinking about game design in general. I'd highly recommend giving it a read if you haven't.
