RE: Just My Own Oppinion

That sounds a little rude, im sure chankast has served you well and certainly a pioneer in DC emulation, it will be sorely missed.

we have been told there will be 1 more release, i still hold hopes out for it.

im certainly looking forward to the release of NullDC tho, it plays quite well on my pc and its improved a lot since i last used it

it is not enough. Chankast is still the best, and the only that runs commercial games.

That's right, until a better emulator is released Chankast will keep being number one.

NullDC seems to top it though but i know there have other DC emu's in the past who created much hype but never been released to public.

This thread is pointless... how can we move to the NullDC era if it isn't released yet? Chankast will NEVER be forgotton!

And before the author does, I hope it will no longer rely on certain runtimes related to VisualStudio 2005 (something like that), that's what prevents me from using it atm. Crying

RE: Just My Own Oppinion

that version is very frowned upon, hacked versions are never good

At first sight I also frowned, but reading their comments it seems to work very well, and it does what it promises. Smile

RE: Just My Own Oppinion

if i told you current PCSX2 beta code was 20% faster, youd probably believe me till i told you i was lying Tongue wink

we believe what our minds want us to believe, they say X number more games work in their build, youll believe it, especially if you try games you never use to try, you dont know any different.

fact remains its VERY hard to fix bugs by hacking an EXE, its near on impossible unless you are a very very very tallented hacker/programmer. also with the amount of DC docs they will be able to get hold of, its unlikely they know how any of the console works

Really? What's so wrong with that? Eek I mean, download it, install it, be done with it!
Most applications require runtime - you just have it installed already.

I cant install VS2005 because I don't have WinXP SP2, and I R-E-F-U-S-E to upgrade because I hate SP2. Besides, I don't have the money to buy VS2005 (the express edition won't do me any good either).

No, but to compile it Wink

I wondering what's wrong with SP2. XP + SP2 is the most stable windows version you can get at the moment!

indeed, id like to know the problem with it too, there was a lot of speculation of it killing stuff when it first came about, but ive never personally known any problems with it, at least nothing that hasnt been fixed since the release, its been great with me.

Well there a certain few things witch work with me in XP in all versions except SP2, like Diablo 1, still one of my favorite games. I dunno why, but I have to use Vmware now to play it(the same for some old dos-dating-sims).

Also Microsoft must have find it pretty painfull to hear that after the release, some Registry-Patches had to be made for their own games like Age of Empires. JoelonSoftware explained pretty deep why something like this happens:
