RE: How much crap in your system tray?

Let's see, in order from left-to-right that's OpenOffice.org Quickstarter, Winamp, PeerGuardian, HP printer monitor, Safely Remove Hardware, sound mixer, Windows Live Messenger, Yamaha XG SoftSynthesizer, DAEMON Tools, NVIDIA control panel, and a couple of avast! anti-virus icons.

BTW, is there any way to keep attachments from being resized to thumbnails in the post?
EDIT: RealOne has kindly pointed out to me that the [img] tags can be used on attachments once they're uploaded.

I keep mine clean. Only ZoneAlarm and SoundMAX Control Panel are housed in there. (I dont have heaps of crap that boots itself when I turn my computer on).

RE: How much crap in your system tray?

Only the strict minimum Wink

time (fulltime Wink )
winamp agent (damn foobar gui layouts and visuals still sucking. still waitin for official win Amarok)
daemon tools
game jackal (when needed only)
s.terminator
most efficient antivirus
xfire
pg2
fraps
S.search and distroy
titanium-plated firewall
keystroke encrypter
sandboxing soft Wink
smart doctor, for my geforce
logitech pad profiler (just removed 8 months ago, logitech sh*t sucks big time)
blogbridge (duh)
website watcher (duh)
XAMP lite, for selfteaching purposes (when needed only)
a download manager (when needed only)
2 communication softs
RaimaRadio Wink
2 softs' preloaders
a few other random softs, including some monitorers and a personal wiki (no torrent client, funnily enough)

Just the strict minimum for the XP, as you see Wink I dont like buggy cr*p like mirc sitting in my tray
yea, i need me some better rig, ram adding no longer optimal Wink NFS PS locks out to 0 fps frequently with some softs active, I guess thats a pretty obvious push to dual cores Wink

PClinuxOS and Ubuntu are still pretty bare and close enough to their default states, so nothing remarkable there Wink

Left to right;

Internet connection thing, Utorrent, AVG, MSN, Speedtouch thing (My ADSL modem diag software),Sensive Guard, peer guardian, Nvidia tray, Volume, LAN disconnected thing, time.

Tbh I usually close most of them, depends what I'm doing. This PC I'm on now is very slow so it needs all the help it can get (Athlon XP 2500+, says it all really).

RE: How much crap in your system tray?

Turn off the Security Center, it's just a complete waste of space.
You'll find it in the Services.
