Powerzx , did you try the first method because I heard that it does not work well...
what do you mean by "first method"? connecting to usb or directly? iam not sure about which method do you talk about.
hdd to usb should work with all models, you can read about it at:
http://www.hdadvance.com/
program for format hdd and transfer games to hdd:
http://www.hdadvance.com/download/USBExt...ininst.zip
ps.i did not check usb method with old ps2, because its broken and i do not have time to fix it.

I was talking about the 40 wires that you have to solder for the hard drive.

I've heard that the slim PS2s have lasers that burn out quickly , so I'm a bit worried...
most of the slimelines lasers last a lot longer than the old phat bast ones

(BTW, I've heard that Swap Magic 3 works on the slims but there's no HDD exploit AFAIK.) Good luck!
usb hdd works fine however some things can be bit jittery as read speeds aren't the best..

Can anyone post a good link about that soldering 40 pins to the ps2 ?
I'm hoping to be able to do the mod , but before that I need to practice soldering....
