I've got a PSP [official firware 3.50]... and to be really honest... its been a really long time since i've updated myself on PSP HB scene.. so you can say that i'm a NOOB in terms of this stuff...

Like.. i wanna :

1) Play PS1 games on my PSP
2) Essentially be able to run all HB programs...

Please do excuse me on asking these simple questions ...

1) What's a pandora's battery?
2) If i've got a custom firware and [in the future] want to upgrade... will it be problem?... some games force updates right?...

For PS1 games on PSP, you'll need to install a custom firmware, as we discussed in the previous thread. Same thing goes for all HB programs.

1) A Pandora's Battery is a battery made using an already-homebrew-capable PSP in order to restore bricked PSPs or install firmware. However, since you have FW 3.50, you can use the Lumines downgrader which requires an original -- not backed up -- copy of the game. There's lots of information on this, just Google "Lumines Downgrader".

2) Yes and no. You'll need to occasionally update your CFW as new games come out, but, by and large, this isn't a major issue so long as CFWs keep getting released. You should never use an official updater.
