Means that you can still backup your games if you country law's allow, and for homebrew purposes too. Wink

They say it but it's not what they wanted. Of course, they will not say: "LOL now you can play downloaded games from the net". You know, there will be a lot of idiots downloading gamecube/wii games, sadly Crying

RE: First Nintendo Wii modchip

Awsome, hopefully someone can create some form of dvd hack/software to allow dvd playback.

They only problem I see with chips in the wii, is nintendo going ahead and killing your console or something (or banning you from online) if it detects chips, due to it being able to constantly being connected to the net.

At least Nintendo isn't selling their consoles at a loss. And when people buy it because it's easy to pirate, they might also buy some peripherals and a couple of legit games. It will attract people who never would've bought the thing otherwise.

I agree. Also most people are only backing up their DVD's. I for example have all my PS2 games backupped to discs in a folder, because I don't want to ruin my DVD's. By the way I'm currently finishing the last 2 dungeons in Twilight Princess, it rocks.
