Give me ideas of what you guys would want like colors, style and theme and I could give it a shot.

We should start a little competition for a new logo! What do you guys think?

OK, I've included a module to show recent posts on the temp homepage.

While it certainly looks better than the current front page, it still doesn't look good in my opinion. In terms of functionality it's very good with a small room to improve, though in terms of graphics and overall look it looks like something created by a 14 year old in 15 minutes. C'mon guys, I know you can do better than that. Also the page shouldn't be taking full window's space, it looks pretty bad with a very wide contents table and tiny menus on both sides. The page is too bright as well, it hurts eyes a little. The picture on the top looks as if taken from somewhere else, doesn't fit here at all. Is it also necessary for the page to be so extremely long? Cutting it into several subpages wouldn't hurt anyone

These are things that can be overcome with custom themes/templates. The general idea that I'm trying to get right now is the functionality of it.

Wow, I like it. There's only one small thing, the blue bar which says board news has a white line going through it for the theme.
Other than that the CMS and theme looks awesome.

That's a flaw in the theme's CSS if I'm not mistaken, since the other theme doesn't have that happening. No worries though, as this is certainly not the final design.

It's as friendly as it can be while still being minimal and functional.

I guess the basic concept of the consoles in the banner would still be the idea, just having it done in a neater style with a better looking font (possibly caligraphy) would be nicer to go with.

The font work is **VERY** nice (nice one, deviant ), but too many consoles there, and too taller because of it.

I'm fine with the idea for a competition for a new logo. Plot says it’s okay, and I stand by his decision 100%. I'd say just create a new thread under "General Pictures," and we will get it started.

I would recommend a transparent background with a max resolution of 635x150px so it works with all the other color schemes and themes we have.

It's hard to associate something with "general" word, even harder with "emulation" you know I was going to use some chip/processor as logotype's signet, but dumped that idea. I agree that it's too tall, wouldn't be too good for printing and/or resizing, but it's supposed to be a web logo, isn't it? I'll try to come up with something later, but the more I do it the bigger crap designer I seem for myself :/

hmm.. as for the homepage. it looks good. could use some graphics improvement including a new logo as everyone else thinks so too. glason's one is good. if the consoles could be made a bit more transparent it would be nice.

thats a good way, I was referring to more like a fade effect for the consoles.
