You'd be hard pressed to find a better 3D fighting game than Soul Calibur II. As far as 2D games are concerned, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is ridiculously fun -- easy to pick up, really difficult to master.

PC, basically :

guilty gears

not muc more, as you can see. mame and kawaks gameplay on street fighter alphas and kings of fighters, samurai showdowns and last blades are prety much all that desrve mentions.

Tekken ftw

Tekken ended some time ago, Namco should make some new franchise IMO. I used to be a big fan of fighting games, I still like them but don't play them as much as some time ago. Me favs are:

2D:
- The King of Fighters series
- Fatal Fury series
- Garou Densetsu
- Last Blade
- Street Fighter II, Zero, Zero II, Zero III, III 2nd Impact (3D SFs suck ass)
- Samurai Shodown series
- Aggressors of Dark Combat (ahh, old arcade times)
- Marvel Super Heroes
- X-Men: Children of the Atom
- X-Men vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel vs. Capcom
- Mortal Kombat 1-3, Ultimate & Trilogy
- WWF Wrestlemania (from Midway)
- SNK vs. Capcom (loved Capcom's characters remade by SNK)

3D:
- Tekken 1-3 & TTT (got bored afterwards)
- Soul Edge/Blade, Soul Calibur I-III
- Virtua Fighter 1-3 (yeh, and that's it)
- Bloody Roar 1-3

One thing I like about the newer tekkens is the sexy graphics.
Nothing like watching sweaty half-naked men fight each other.
